What is the longest table?
The Longest Table is your way to fundraise for cancer research by simply hosting a meal. This July or August, gather your friends for a dinner party, pizza night, or picnic and raise funds for a future free from cancer!
You can register to host a Longest Table event anytime it suits you until 31 August 2025.
Hosting your Longest Table is easy and by fundraising, you will help support life-changing research through The Hospital Research Foundation Group – fighting for better diagnosis, improved treatments, and ultimately finding cures for some of the most heartbreaking cancers affecting our loved ones.
How to host a Longest table
Register to host
We’ve made registering and fundraising easy – choose a time and place to host your Table and follow the prompts online to register!
You’ll join over 1,800 hosts who’ve come together over the last 13 years to #ForkCancer. When you join us as a host, you'll also receive your own forkin' awesome Host Goodie Pack!
Plan your table
The official date to host is Saturday, 26 July 2025, but you can register a Longest Table event anytime it suits you until 31 August 2025.
Once you set your date, start planning your event – order in pizza, host the ultimate picnic, book a restaurant table, or plan the ultimate dinner party! The more you raise, the more freebies you’ll receive to help host your event! Invite your family, mates and colleagues to help #ForkCancer.
Dine & Donate
Invite all your mates, family, and work colleagues to your Longest Table and get fundraising!
If people can’t make it, ask for a donation to your online fundraising page instead. Perhaps you have lost a loved one to cancer, or maybe you just want to help find a cure - share your motivation for hosting a Longest Table on your social media channels and let's #ForkCancer together.
“My husband is still not out of the woods, but I am thankful that research continues”
Elaine knows all too well the challenges of a cancer diagnosis - her sister fought a long and inspiring battle with ovarian cancer, and her dearest friends endured an intensive regime for an aggressive breast cancer.
And just last year, her husband was diagnosed with oral cancer.
“There have been great improvements in outcomes for cancer patients, but so much more needs to be done,” says Elaine.
“I am doing all I can to raise funds to help and I look forward to the day that a cancer diagnosis is not an overwhelming moment that feels like you are sucked into a vortex and can't breathe.”
